We’re quite meticulous about our coffee. Some would say it’s an obsession, which it could be, but it’s most definitely a passion. Being in one of the most ideal climates in the world for growing coffee is great for fueling our passion.
The Kau region, which is located on the Big Island of Hawaii, has fertile soils and is the location of our farm. Its rich, volcanic soils are fed by natural spring water that have ideal sun exposure. The area is located in a valley that experiences perfect trade winds and is situated below the spring that feeds its soils. This ideal climate yields coffee that is unmatched in flavor, quality, and consistency.
Waiohinu Farms is an estate, which means we perform and oversee every aspect of our coffee growing in-house. From initial growing to final roasting, we keep our eyes on every step of the process. This means that we can ensure consistent quality throughout all of our harvests. We grow our coffee, mill it, sundry it, hull it, and roast it all in-house. This has built an even deeper connection between our farm and its coffee, which drives our passion for producing it.
